This place was a blast for me and for the kids. The staff was awesome and really knowledgeable...it's not just staffed with bored college kids like some of these museums. I talked to one guy, Andy, who has a geology degree. So much to do and see here...it could easily be a 4-5 hour visit if you wanted to experience everything you could.
Great place for elementary aged kids and families. We took our 6 month old, and it didn't have the same impact for her age as for other visitors that day. Awesome displays, but they are very content dense. It's like they are trying to pack too much information into every station. Sometimes less is more. Overall great experience!
Awesome place. Especially for my autistic daughter! She loves it! Staff are friendly and helpful as well.
SO happy to have this as a local resource. My family spends many happy hours here. Also a favorite icky-weather hang-out with our friends thanks to being Family MAX members. The staff are always wonderful & welcoming. Just wish the Tinker Space was handicap accessible, which is why I deducted a star.
Speaking of accessibility, there are handicap parking spaces in the underground lot but getting around the pillars in a wheelchair is very difficult. As a wheelchair user I always park in one of the 3 marked handicap spaces in the driveway in front of the building instead. When all of those have been taken already, management has granted permission to park in the other marked spaces there that are for other purposes. They are aware of the wheelchair challenges in the underground lot. Underground lot is great for those using canes & walkers though so you don't get rained on & the underground lot is not expensive, take your parking stub in to the membership desk to be validated as a museum visitor for a discount.
Really overpriced. Not very interactive at least for 3 year olds. They seemed to be trying with some events, but would've really liked a better little kids zone. The ball pit in polymer room was well enjoyed by my kids, but there wasn't much sensory interaction in that room. Mainly just balls.
