Hadn't visited this cemetery in over a decade and dragged my wife half-willingly up to the Garfield tomb. Creepy for her, tranquil for me. We noticed the unusual fonts used on many of the late 19th-century tombstones. We especially noted the scarcity of crosses, scriptural references or any other vestige of the Christian religions that its occupants may or may not have believed in. The latter appears to be most probable, since the tombs often belonged to the plutocrats whose vast fortunes made their names famous and known to us many decades after their decease.
Have not been to many cemeteries, but this impressed me. Went here to specifically see the Haserot Angel. This would be a great place to spend a whole day. So much history.
Make sure to check out the Garfield Memorial and go to the observation deck for great views of Cleveland!
