For the past two months we have been living in Cleveland with our son . Edgewater Park is where we go for a walk everyday and enjoy Lake Erie in several moods. Yes the gurgling waters look different each day and the urge to click photos cannot be restrained. We reach this place via the 'sun cave ' as we call it. There is a railway line above and many a time trains pass by compelling us to watch it run away from our view. Flying planes and running trains always make you watch them like a child. So also flying kites and balloons. After walking under the bridge we head towards the park. The signs of the attractions to be seen are depicted as a yacht, a bicycle, a boat and so on. As we walk on the trail watching people exercise on the gym or on the grass we take a right and walk along the creek with the Yacht Club at the back. We often see people fishing and sometimes a great catch too. We climb up the rocks and sit for a while watching the yachts sailing peacefully with white sails and motor boats whizzing away spurting water in the front. Sometimes we get to see a ship in the distance and one day we saw a ship carrying people as it does in Niagara. After watching the sunset we continue our walk stopping by at different spots on different occasions. Once we climbed 'The Pier' to view and saw the seagulls holding a meeting on a broad rock and the Lake filled ripples and waves. The colour too differed everyday. It was sometimes, black and sometimes blue, sometimes calm , sometimes furious. The fascination never ceased. We continue our walk watching the going ones. Usually people exercising, coaches making kids run, people with their yoga mats and picnic tables filled with baskets and cartons and the fire getting ready . The spot where there is a willow tree is usually a stop by place to see the swimmers on the beach and the picture perfect surroundings. We would then walk past the Pavilion and the park before turning left to head home As we headed home we saw migrating geese cackling away and sometimes the sound of a solitary bird probably tracing its way home. At the end of the walk we feel fresh and rejuvenated.

On two occasions we walked unto the Cleveland sign enjoying the Lake-view from in between trees and elevated areas. The Cleveland sign is beautiful and someone was nice enough to click a photo of all of us. Another time we took the 'Beach route' and wetted our feet watching the kids splashing water on each other and swimming away to glory. The buoys danced in the distance and on some days people came with their water skis. It was fun watching them climbing it lying upside down and moving along with the water-flow. At other times there were people with huge parachute-like structures hovering above their heads. One day we saw a man dive into the waters pulling his dog along. Then we saw the Dog Beach where dogs were enjoying freedom from their leashes. Many a time we would see people playing their instruments and once a drummer's beats were so rhythmic couldn't help being captivated. Then there were dancing groups swaying away to music doing impromptu jigs. One day as we were going to our spot near the willow we saw a beaver who posed for photographs and had us Google beavers to know more about them. One day we lost our driving license and to our surprise and happiness had it delivered home at 10.00 p.m. by the Park Ranger. We do want to thank this wonderful person but were too overwhelmed to ask his name. The question is why did we carry our license on a walk? Actually what happened was that on the previous evening my husband was about to be hit by a car and we realized the necessity of carrying some written identity besides our mobiles. While playing 'Poke Môn Go' my son dropped it somewhere and all our searches proved futile. Thanks to the dutiful personnel we got it back. We will be going back to India shortly but Lake Erie will be in our memory for times to come.
