This is more of a browsing bookstore, and not a place to go if you are looking for a particular book. And there are no oversized arm chairs to sit in and read. Books are displayed on homemade horizontal shelves (hence, the name of the store). But they have an incredible selection of just about everything, including best-sellers, and I easily find dozens of books I'd like to get on every visit. They have a great teen and kid's section as well.
Buy 3 or more books and get 70% off the cover price. Depending on the mix (paperback vs hardcover, kids book vs larger novel), we typically spend between $5 and $8 per book.
Can't beat the price. I usually make a trip here for holidays and birthdays because I can buy tons of gifts and spend very little. Selection can seem a little thin at times but the staff is very helpful and has even suggested similar works to me in the past!
Great place with fantastic prices. The homemade shelves really remind us that bookstores are about the books not the coffee shops inside.
